Are you vying for the position of library prefect in your school and confused as to how to write a manifesto? If your answer is yes then worry no more as this article seeks to guide you on and give you a manifesto sample to win the heart of the students.
What is a manifesto?
It’s a written document that contains policies and plans of an organization or person who seeks the welfare of others. A manifesto is read during elections and to win any election position you need to have a great manifesto because that is what will convince your friends and the school to either vote for you or not.
How to write a manifesto
Below are some simple steps to write a manifesto;
- Be clear and concise. Use short, simple words to explain your policies. Don’t try to sound clever – you’ll just confuse people.
- Explain your past experience with the school and how this will help you if you’re elected as the school general secretary.
- Explain your goals for the office and ensure that they are realistic and achievable.
- Your manifesto is about you, not your opponents.
- Talk about your skills that would indicate to voters your suitability for the role.
- It doesn’t have to be long – in fact it shouldn’t be. Short and sweet works best. You’re only allowed 200 words that will be displayed to voters on the website.
- Be creative and inspiring
Example of how to write a manifesto for library prefect
Mr chairman, his honorable headmaster, senior housemaster, invited guests, fellow students. It is a great honour for me to stand before the house to deliver my manifesto. I am in the person of (Put your name here) from( your class) and I am running for the position of library perfect in this great school.
Mr chairman, senior housemaster, fellow students I have over 3 years of experience in the library I was the library prefect back at my junior high school. I held the position for the library for over 18 months before I completed school. After I was being employed as a library attendant at the Accra library and bookshop, which led me to develop great skills in terms of books and other learning materials, I believe this makes me an ideal candidate.
Mr. Chairman, honorable headmaster, fellow students, if elected I will strive to link the school library to the regional main library and bookshop to ensure students get access to a variety of books of their choice so as to improve upon their knowledge.
Also, materials such as brooms floor mobs, dust cleaners, and air refreshers will be provided double-double to ensure the cleanliness and sweet scent for students to feel comfortable to carry out their studies in the library.
Fellow students’ new cocktail books will be provided based on the G .E. S approved syllabus to enhance vocabulary development so that students can speak and write good English.
Most students failed to speak and write good English due to their inappropriate organization of school libraries.
Fellow students’ free books and other learning materials will be awarded to students who often use the school library so as to encourage them as well as other students who do not like using the library to also start. I am sure the above will have a positive impact on the institution.
Mr. Chairman, honorable headmaster, fellow students, with the above mentioned please vote me as your next library prefect.
