From the time Ghana gained its freedom from the British, Ghanaians were given the privilege to do what every they want pleasing them — as far as it does not go against the rules and regulations set and the Laws of Ghana.

With this, many Ghanaian politicians formed their own political parties, despite the one founded by Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah — which is Conventional People’s Party.

Many Ghanaians are wondering if political parties in Ghana are only that of what we used to see and hear their names in elections such as; National Democratic Congress (NDC), New Patriotic Party (NPP), Conventional People’s Party (CPP), Progressive People’s Party (PPP) and Ghana Union Movement (GUM).

Ghana is a country that practices a multi-party system, and that is why there are many political parties in the country. However, it seems to be only two political parties dominating over the Ghana election times. These political parties are: National Democratic Congress (NDC) and New Patriotic Party (NPP).
