The District Chief Executive for Akatsi North, Dr. Prince Sodoke Amuzu has announced to celebrate teachers in the District in October this year.

The forthcoming event, dubbed ” Teachers Day” will basically reward teachers and motivate them to stay dedicated to improving education in the District.
The announcement was made during the 63rd Independence Day celebration parade at Ave-Dakpa, the District capital.
Dr. Prince Sodoke Amuzu expressed further on the happiness of the Assembly amid the performance of schools in the District in the Basic Education Certificate Examination last year with the majority of the schools scoring 100% accurate passes.
The DCE, on the other hand, said a similar performance was noticed in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination and outlined the need to celebrate the teachers.

Dr. Prince Sodoke Amuzu further assured that the Assembly remains fully committed to investing in education as a key driver of development. He emphasised that education continues to be a top priority for the Assembly, noting that deliberate efforts are being made to create opportunities for young people to excel academically. According to him, the Assembly is prepared to back its words with action by providing financial support to pupils and students who distinguish themselves in external examinations. He announced that such high-performing learners would be rewarded through scholarship packages to ease the financial burden on their parents and guardians. Dr. Amuzu encouraged students to take their studies seriously, stressing that academic excellence would not go unnoticed, as the Assembly stands ready to support and nurture future leaders of the municipality.
In the District’s effort to curb teenage pregnancy, Dr. Amuzu urged parents to continuously engage adolescent girls and encourage them to know the benefits of being in school.
With all things being equal, the celebration was on the theme, “consolidating our gains,” which invited pupils and students, heads of decentralized institutions, traditional rulers and the clergy among others.
