Comic Nollywood Actor, Mr. IBu Is Dead

Popular Nollywood actor, John Okafor better known as Mr. Ibu has died at age 62.

The ailing actor is reported to have died on Saturday, March 2, 2024 after battling some health complications.

Recall that the late actor was down with some health issues that resulted in his family coming out to the public domain to solicit funds to help cater for his medical bills. The public cheerfully gave to support the cause but death seems to be stronger than life when your time is up.

In November 2023, Okafor’s family made it known that one of his legs had been amputated to in order to keep him alive. The amputation became expedient due to the fact that his foot had developed and infection and it had deteriorated because it was not detected early enough, 

In reaction to the death, many celebrities and fans took to social media to express their heartfelt grief over the passing of the late actor.

The National President of Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, has given credence to the news of the passing of the late actor.

He took to Instagram to write, “Sad Day for Actors Guild of Nigeria.

Mr. Ibu’s longtime manager Mr Don Single Nwuzor also confirmed the development.

He wrote: “I announce with deep sense of grief that Mr Ibu didn’t make it.

“May his soul rest in peace.”
