Dr Eric Twum, a consultant for Safeguards under the Secondary Education Improvement Project (SEIP),trained staff on the importance of the mechanism and how it operates as the project would address complaints from stakeholders on issues concerning the Ministry and GES.

Under the Grievance Redress Mechanism, there would be a provision of public toll free numbers and short codes for the general public to either call or text the Ministry or GES to address their issues for them.

These issues may range from free Senior High School, postings and transfers, recruitment or even on issues on salaries.

Ms Cassandra Twum Ampofo, the Head of the public Relations Unit at GES took the participants through customer service and phone etiquettes.

The presentation provided participants with information on how to relate to callers who phone-in with issues.

This training was funded by the World Bank through SEIP to improve the communication aspect of the project and other related issues.

The Toll free calls and SMS are currently on test run and the numbers will be announced soon.

The project is expected to kick off this July.
