Playgrounds in Accra

The playgrounds in Accra are some of the most fun and vibrant places in the city. From the colorful slides and swings to the joyful laughter of children playing, they are a source of happiness for many. However, they are also a source of danger. In this blog post, we will explore the safety of playgrounds in Accra and offer some suggestions on how to make them safer.

Playgrounds are a place where children can learn, play, and have fun. In Accra, there is a lack of playgrounds. This is due to the fact that there are not enough spaces for playgrounds to be built. The few that exist are often in poor condition and lack supervision by adults.

Legon Botanical Gardens and Playground

The city’s best green space is without a doubt the Legon Botanical Gardens and Playground. The garden, which is at the edge of the University of Ghana campus, provides plenty of room for hiking between the various tropical plant species that grow there.

Numerous cattle egrets are circling above a lake. You can meditate or unwind while sitting close to this lake. In the outdoor play area, both children and adults are welcome to swing and climb. The Legon Botanical Gardens are a fantastic place to unwind after a long day in the city.

Efua Sutherland Children’s Park

The Efua Sutherland Children’s Park is a sizable area of green that lurks in the middle of the city, in between the tall hotels and office towers. The park is a free, open-to-the-public area that is open every day of the week and is named after renowned Ghanaian playwright, Efua T Sutherland. It provides a quiet, well-kept park area where you can enjoy a family picnic in the shade without leaving Accra’s city center.

Mmofra Place

Independent cultural organization The Mmofra Foundation works to increase cultural sensitivity, especially in young children and teenagers. The organization created a small, cozy park and playground where it plans activities to help children learn about their culture. The park holds storytelling events on the weekends where children can play on the bright swings, slides, sandboxes, and other amenities while also exercising their creative instincts.
