He suffered severe brain injuries in a horrible vehicle accident on March 27 around 11:30 p.m. The fact that he made it to the hospital alive was a miracle. Since then, the medical staff has done an amazing job of keeping him stable and sedated.
The most recent scan, however, showed that the damage was so extensive that they would have to stop giving him supportive medications and let him go.
The boys are handling the situation well. After his passing, tributes to Richards have been sent in from the comedy community’s friends and lovers. The Frank Skinner Show tweeted their “heartbreak” and how much they will miss Richards.
