Dion Marquise Hayes, popularly known by stage name 42 Dugg is a famous American rapper and composer best known for his hit songs. He is widely known for his incredible joint albums with well-known rapper Lil Baby. We Paid and Grace are two of his top songs.

Who is 42 Dugg
42 Dugg was born on November 25, 1994, and grew up in Detroit, Michigan’s Denby neighborhood at the intersection of Whittier Avenue and Wayburn Street. He went to Detroit, Michigan’s Denby High School, but eventually drop out.
The number “42” in Dugg’s name refers to the Hustle Boys, a local Crips LC group. In 2017, he got to know Lil Baby, another artist. Yo Gotti and Jeezy were among his favorite artists growing up.
At the age of 15, Hayes was detained and given a 4-year prison term for carjacking; however, a fight with another prisoner during his incarceration increased his sentence to a total of 6-years. He was sent in solitary confinement twice for a month each time. He practiced writing lyrics throughout this imprisonment, and at the age of 22, he was released.
Career
After his release from music, 42 Dugg met Lil Baby through some common connections. Lil Baby was reportedly engaged in a number of endeavors at the time. Lil Baby was astonished with 42 Dugg’s abilities when the pair started creating slam poetry.
A feature on Lil Baby’s song “Grace,” which peaked at number 48 on the Billboard Hot 100 in February 2020, brought 42 Dugg to the attention of the general public. Additionally, he was a featured artist on Lil Baby’s song “We Paid” in May 2020, which peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.
On February 21, 2021, three individuals were hurt in an Atlanta shooting that took place at the music video shoot for Roddy Ricch and 42 Dugg. Later, OMB Peezy was accused with using a firearm while committing a crime and aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon in connection with the incident. All three of the injured people are still alive.
42 Dugg was dubbed the “R&B/Hip-Hop Rookie of the Month” by Billboard in May 2021. The 19-track mixtape Free Dem Boyz was released by Dugg that same week, on May 21, 2021, as a tribute to all of his imprisoned buddies. He appeared on the yearly XXL Freshman Class in 2021 as well.
