Nursing is a noble profession that has continued to serve humanity with their touch of hospitality and dedication to service.
A nurse can be defined as a trained and registered health worker who provides care to patients. Nurses, like other medical professionals, have the option of specializing in a particular field to determine where they want to work and what type of job they want to accomplish.
A nurse’s standard of practice and attitude to patient care set them apart from other health professions. A nurse’s general role is to communicate with physicians, patients, and their families in order to develop a care plan that enhances the quality of life for those who are ill. Nursing is unique in that it allows nurses to work both independently and collaboratively.
Nurses who enroll for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing pass out as degree nurses with a distinction from diploma nurses who spend 3 years in school. Degree nurses attend school for four years to earn their title.
However, a diploma nurse hoping to climb up the ladder can do a top-up program for two years in an approved or accredited University to be on the same level as a degree nurse. Nurses who specialize in a specific specialization become experts in their profession, which leads to development in their careers. As a result, anyone wishing to pursue a rewarding and well-paying profession in this industry must have a good educational background.
Despite the fact that there are over 30 distinct types of nursing occupations, the definition of a nurse and the function they perform in the lives of patients remain the same. The various nursing specialties available, on the other hand, mean that nurses can now take on additional responsibilities that were formerly reserved for doctors.
