Bailey Smith is a professional Australian rules footballer who plays for the Western Bulldogs in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was signed by the Western Bulldogs with the 7th overall pick in the 2018 AFL Draft.

Bailey Smith Early Life & Career
Born 7 December 2000, Smith played for the East Malvern Junior Football Club in Melbourne’s southeast during his early years where was named the best and fairest player in the MSJFL under-11 west division in 2011.
Smith participated in the NAB League with the Sandringham Dragons in 2017 and 2018. He had a very good year as a bottom-ager in his 2017 campaign with the Dragons, averaging 24.3 disposals and 4 tackles per game. His breakthrough performance with the Dragons as a half-back occurred in the eleventh match of the season, when he amassed 34 and 5 clearances to assist the Dragons defeat the Geelong Falcons by 49 points. At the conclusion of the season, Smith was awarded best first year player award after his promising performances.
Bailey Smith was projected to go in the top 10 and be selected by the Western Bulldogs or the Gold Coast by the end of the 2018 season. The Western Bulldogs selected Smith with pick number seven in the 2018 AFL draft
When Smith originally joined the team, it was made known that he would take over Luke Dahlhaus’ number. 6 guernsey.
